Raised in Savage
Drew was raised in Savage. He attended Glendale Elementary and learned to ride a bike in that parking lot—the same parking lot where his three kids have learned to ride their bikes.
He earned the Boy Scouts’ highest rank, Eagle Scout, alongside some of his best childhood friends and graduated from Prior Lake High School where he delivered a commencement address (in the pouring rain) in Dan Patch Stadium.
Served Savage
Drew was appointed by the Savage City Council to the Savage Advisory Communications Commission in 2012. After the completion of his three year volunteer term, Drew was elected in 2014 by his friends and neighbors to represent Savage as one of the youngest members of the Minnesota House of Representatives in state history.
In the legislature, Drew secured the largest tax relief package for Minnesota families in history, secured strong funding for our schools, and worked to ensure every Minnesota student has an excellent teacher.
After being reelected in 2016, Drew secured funding for a new 35W bridge over the Minnesota River as well as funding for a partnership with Scott County and the City of Savage to bring a critically needed mental health treatment center to Savage.
Stayed in Savage
Since leaving the legislature in 2019, Drew has built his career and his family while staying involved in our community. Drew works as an executive for a national, utility-scale clean power producer, providing our country with abundant energy, economic development, and healthier communities.
Drew has served as a member of the Savage Planning Commission since 2019, a member of the Savage Rotary Club since 2018, a volunteer youth sports coach, and he’s active in his church.
Drew lives with his brilliant and lovely wife, Kayla, and their three kids (2nd grade, Kindergarten, and preschool) a few miles away from the house he grew up in.
